Just Like DeanBen sat down at the lunch table with his brown bagged lunch: a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with bananas, some BBQ potato chips, a box of grape juice, and a slice of leftover apple pie, his favorite. Not two seconds after he sits down, the lunch table becomes full. It's been a full month since the incident with the changelings, but all the kids still look up to him for helping them get out of there. Like Father, Like SonDean was working with Castiel in Ohio. It had been seven years since the apocalypse ended and seven years since Castiel had fallen to Earth so he could remain with Dean for the rest of their natural lives. Dean couldn't tell for sure, but it seemed like Castiel was treating this like shore leave or something, living every moment and experiencing everything he could. He knew Castiel still knew what was on the other side and Castiel wasn't doing the 'I'm going to be in Hell and I don't want to feel the pain'. Dean had done that and this was nothing like that. It was more like a weekend bender in Vegas before having to return to work the next morning. He could only guess what that meant for the ex-angel or possibly Heaven. After Bobby assured him that he had found another hunter, Dean made his way to Indiana. The drive was silent and Castiel contented himself with watching Dean fidget from nerves. Castiel wasn't jealous, he really wasn't. He knew Lisa would always have a place in Dean's heart, especially now that she had given Dean somewhat of an heir, something Castiel could never do. The wheels in Dean's head were on an endless cycle and Castiel didn't need his angelic powers to know Dean was on the fence with Ben. Part of him was proud Ben had decided to take after him, but then there was the part of him that knew what being a hunter really entailed. Like any parent, Dean didn't want that for Ben. So, Castiel watched Dean struggle with his conscience, trying not to influence him, knowing that Dean would make the right decision in the end whatever that was. Castiel had been an angel, not a prophet. It was beyond his expertise to know what would be right in the end. "Finally," Castiel breathed as they pulled into Lisa's driveway. "What was that?" Dean asked quirking an eyebrow at him suspiciously. "I merely breathed. Is it a sin to breathe?" Dean scowled at Castiel, but didn't say anything as he got out of the car. He rang the bell and Lisa answered the door. She pulled Dean into a tight hug and Castiel cleared his throat to remind Dean that he was still there. "Uh, Lisa," Dean said awkwardly as he pulled away. "This is Castiel. My, uh, life partner? He's the one who gave me the reprieve." "Oh, so you're a doctor," Lisa said shaking Castiel's hand. "Angel," Castiel corrected her. "That makes sense, I guess... If there are demons, there have to be the opposite." She was giving Castiel a weird look as she spoke. "Come right in. I'll show you to Ben's room." "You're pretty accepting," Dean said as he followed her in. "When Cas told me he was an angel, I stabbed him." "You weren't lying about the changelings and my son is currently off hunting demons, I don't think there's room for argument. You could have told me he was a leprechaun and I would have probably have believed you." "Actually, leprechauns are only in Ireland. I've never met a domestic one." Lisa gave him a look before motioning to a door with a huge poster featuring AC/DC. "This is Ben's room. It's been nearly cleaned out. He took his laptop, all his clothes, his bank accounts have been emptied and closed, and he quit all his jobs. I had no idea he was planning this." "What were his clubs at school?" Dean asked opening the door. "Wrestling and archery." "They have an archery club at his school?" "It's a good school. He was there on a scholarship." "Smart kid, must get that from Sam." He put up his hand to stop Castiel from telling him that he was smart, too. "What did he do when he wasn't working?" "Martial arts, I believe. He has a few black belts... Why didn't I see this coming?" She ran her hands through her hair. "All the jobs to save up money and he was training himself. I didn't want to believe my baby would do such a thing. Why didn't he tell me?" "I'll ask him when I find him." Dean looked around the room. There were rock band posters hung across the walls, bands Dean was sure that he currently had in his mix tape collection back in the Impala. The bed was made, obviously not slept in. A few video games were scattered across the floor and next to the small tv on his dresser, but nothing seemed to be missing. Dean went through the drawers. He could tell which held clothes because those were empty while the ones with material objects were still there. He went into the closet, which was empty besides a few boxes on the top. The boxes didn't hold anything important, just CDs and old toy cars. "Why didn't he take his CDs?" Dean asked Lisa. "He transferred them to a bunch of mix tapes because he didn't want to mess up his car by inserting a CD player," she answered. "It was a classic he got at a used car dealership. I tried to convince him it was a lemon, but he was too excited over it to listen. I remember he spent two months fixing it up." "What was the make of the car?" "Um, I don't know. It was just a car to me." "Well, fixed up classics are bound to get noticed. It would give me something to look for." "On the desk, next to the file folder with the articles, there's a picture of Ben with his car." Castiel, who was closer to the desk, picked up the frame and handed it to Dean. Dean looked it over and was shocked to see a younger version of himself staring back. Ben's hair was darker than Dean's and he had a mole on his cheek, but the way he was leaning against his car, smirking at the camera in a black t-shirt and blue jeans, Dean could have sworn it was a younger him. "Oh, this is epic," Dean said recognizing the model of the car. "This is a 1967 Chevy Chevelle. It is so cherry. Look at it, it's in perfect condition. I love that it's a solid black, most people try to cheap it up with racing stripes-" "Will that help?" Lisa interrupted him. "Give me a second and I'll find out." Dean pulled out his cell phone and dialed Sam's number. He tried not to sigh when a little girl picked up the phone. "Jess," Dean said sweetly. "How many times did your dad tell you not to pick up the phone?" "A million..." "Can I talk your dad?" "Noooooo," Jess said with a giggle. "And why not?" "Because..." "Jess, who is that?" Dean heard Sam ask in the background. "Uncle Dean." "Can I speak with him?" "No..." Dean heard an exasperated sigh as Sam wrestled the phone from his daughter. "Sorry," Sam said. "She's going through a phase." "It's okay. You went through the same phase. She's around that age." "I did not." "You were four, how do you remember what phases you went through?" Dean shook his head. "It doesn't matter. I need information." "Bobby told me you traded the job to another hunter." "I did. This is a different one. I need to you to run a license plate number for me." "Give me a second." Dean listened to Sam's footsteps as he moved through his house in Lawrence, Kansas where he was living the dream with a witch gone straight. They had met during a hunt. Sam and Karen, the witch, had a nice AA meeting and Sam got her out of her contract with the demon she practiced with. They ended up settling near the old house and starting a family. Sam now worked at a small law firm defending people with work related injuries and Karen stayed home to take care of Jessica. Dean always kept telling himself, "At least Karen's human." "I'm at my desk. Give me the number." "J2M89H5." There was a pause while Sam typed. "Okay, so this car is registered to a man named Thomas Isakson. He lives in Gary, Indiana. Um..." "Damn, that kid is good." "What?" "Do you remember Ben Braeden?" "That kid in Indiana that you thought was your son." "About that. Apparently his father is a hunter and the kid took off to try and follow in his father's footsteps. This kid is highly trained, smart, and not to mention legal. Lisa asked me to find him for her." "Ben's yours, isn't he?" "Let's not get into the condom talk, okay? I'm in a monogamous relationship with a beautiful STD free male angel, so do you have anything that can help me or not?" "If he is out there, he's being careful. No tickets, parking infractions, nothing. Nothing on Ben either. He has a clean record." "Try Ben Winchester." "Nothing." "So he can be anywhere." "I'm sorry, Dean." "It's fine. I'll check the room one more time. See if I come up with anything." "Again, Dean, I'm sorry." "He's smart and obviously knows how to not be found. Thanks for looking." "No problem. Good luck. Bye." "Bye," Dean said and hung up the phone. "Ben was not very good at hanging posters," Castiel commented tilting his head to the side staring at a particular Metallica poster. "He ruined the paint on the wall with that one." "That wasn't like that before," Lisa said looking at the poster, too. "Maybe he tried to take it with him and realized it was ruining the wall." "But, why that poster," Dean said approaching it. "He didn't take his games, his toys; everything he owns, except for his clothes, is still in this room. He must have left the folder to throw us off." "Throw us off?" "We'd be so focused on everything in the file that we forgot to ask what's not in the file. I bet if I looked, those would just be random things he put together." "He wants to be found," Castiel said, catching on. "But by no one but his hero." Dean tore down the poster and found a note attached to it with a printed out article about some deaths that were happening in Chattanooga, Tennessee, something about men dying in their sleep shortly after climaxing sexually. Death by wet dreams, Dean was about to laugh, but stopped when in the margin written in messy handwriting was "Succubus?" Dean blinked at the word. Obviously, Ben had done his research. He moved onto the note, which was scrawled in the same way as the footnote. It read: Dear Dean, I know you're the one my mom would call if I did this. I know you're my dad. I see you every time I look in the mirror and you're exactly how I remember you. I also knew you'd be the one to find this. Tell my mom I'm sorry. I was going stir crazy. She kept talking about college and going to business school to make something of myself. My skin just began itching. I hadn't planned this, not at first. But my mind just snapped back to you and the Changelings, and then I knew what I had to do. I couldn't tell Mom because I knew she'd talk me out of it somehow. This is what I have to do. Planning this whole hunt was like coming home. I can't do suburbia anymore. Tell my mom I love her and it had nothing to do with her. It's just in my blood to do this. I left where I was going to hunt and what. You can come help me if you want, but if you try to bring my mom, then I'll really leave without a trace. Signed, Ben Dean re-read it and against his better judgment he handed it to Lisa. She put a hand to her mouth and sobbed. Like Dean, she re-read it a few times. "You," Lisa said with every ounce of venom she possessed. "You did this to me, to him. Why? Why did I sleep with you? Why did I bring you into my life? Look what your blood did to him." "You are merely upset," Castiel interrupted. "It would be best if you remembered the type of men you hung around before you became pregnant with Ben. Ben was God's gift to you, but Ben was born with a destiny, like Dean. Dean Winchester saved the world. Anyone should be half as lucky as to be born with such a fate." "Dude," Dean scoffed. "I doubt destiny is genetic." "God's will is. He tends to work through families. Fathers, sons, daughters, he likes to use family because he knows the blood line is strong. Would Ben be so lucky if he was from any other man's loins? Would you rather Ben be a biker or a vagrant? A drunk? Because of Dean, he has God's protection." "You met God?" Lisa asked in almost awe. "Yeah, cool dude, but a bit crazy. Not how I pictured him at all. There was this thing that closely resembled Dogma. Cas was Alan Rickman, Sam was Jay, and I was Silent Bob. It was awesome." "And he mentioned Ben?" "No, he barely mentioned anything. That's where the cool, but crazy part comes in." "So, you really think Ben has some sort of destiny?" "I don't know," Castiel admitted. "What I do know is that for Ben to be Dean's son and not have a destiny would make less sense. We will find him and we will insure his safety. I can tell you that much." "Call me to let me know if anything happens and if God shows up to tell you something-" "He won't," Dean interrupted. "God can be a bit smug. I guess knowing everything will do that to you." "Then just call me." "We will." Dean hugged Lisa good-bye and Castiel gave her platonic handshake. They made their way to the car and Castiel was just about to get in before Dean stopped him. "Did you know about Ben being my son?" "Yes and before you blame me for not telling you like you always do, would you have been able to concentrate? If something was to happen and you knew for sure that Ben was your son, you would be distraught. The demons would have used it against you." "What about now? Did you know Ben ran away?" "Anything after my fall is news to me. I was only shared the destiny of my charge and Ben is sadly not my charge. I am not even supposed to interfere with Heavenly matters. I'm on vacation." "Being human is you using your vacation time?" "Yes, it is a very short one at best. You humans have a life expectancy of eighty years. In an angelic frame of time it is like spending a few minutes away from home. It is barely a blink of an eye as far as billion year old angels are concerned." Dean gapped at him, "You're like a billion?" "That surprises you?" "You never put a number to your age. If you're that old, why the Hell did you listen to me?" "Because you are very loud and hard to ignore." With a smirk, Castiel got into the Impala before Dean could respond. When they pulled into Chattanooga, Dean checked out all the local motels. It wasn't hard to find Ben. His car was parked outside a motel in the center of town, it was the perfect place. It was the closest to the library where Ben would most likely do all his research. Dean pulled up next the Chevelle and got out of the car. He tried peeking through the curtains first, but they were shut. He knocked and then he knocked again. There were no sounds coming from inside so Dean kneeled down and took out his lock picking tools from his pocket. "Dean!" Castiel gasped. "Do you really think Ben will want you picking the lock to his motel room?" "I'll be in and out. He'll never know I was here." Before Castiel could protest again, Dean got the lock open and the door swung open. On the bed, was Ben half naked pressed underneath a fully naked blonde girl. They were making loud moaning noises that Dean could have sworn he hadn't heard a minute ago. "Bethanael?" Castiel called out, confused. The blonde girl squeaked. She stopped making out with Ben and looked over her shoulder at Castiel then disappeared. "Dude, what the Hell?" Ben yelled at them sitting up. Dean stood up and looked from Castiel to Ben, "You knew that girl... uh... angel?" "Yes!" Ben and Castiel said at the same time. "You first," Dean said pointing at Castiel. "She was in my garrison," Castiel explained. "I stationed here to watch over Benjamin, not get into his pants. It was clear that she was not to make contact." Dean grinned, "You're one to talk. It's not exactly like you followed orders." Castiel glared at Dean, "It was different between us. My orders to her were sound and just. She was to follow him and to make sure he stayed out of danger. I assumed she went back with the other angels." "She was like stalking me," Ben said climbing out of bed and looking for his shirt. "Beth was in all my classes and I'd see her outside my house sometimes. I cornered her and called her on it. One thing led to another, we started dating." "Your mom didn't mention her," Dean said. "Yeah, I was going to mention I was dating my stalker." "When did you find out she was an angel?" "The day I skipped out on graduation. She appeared in my car. I nearly freaked out and crashed. She explained things to me, tried to get me to go back, threatened with the angel mojo, and I told her I'd never speak with her again, so she came with me." "I am sorry, Lord Castiel," Bethanael said as she reappeared in the room, fully dressed this time. "I clearly miscalculated. I assumed that because of your relationship with Ben's father, it would be alright to pursue one with Ben. You have always outranked me and I should have assumed it was a special privilege. If you order it, I will end the relationship and go back to Heaven." Castiel rubbed his temple, "That is not what I wish. I give you permission to date Ben." "Gee, thanks," Ben snorted. "You will not speak to Lord Castiel in such a manner!" Bethanael snapped at Ben. "When he is finished with his vacation, he will be the right hand of God. He deserves our respect." "I need to go..." Castiel said starting to slink away. Dean grabbed him, "Right hand of God?" "I didn't mention it?" "No, Cas, you didn't. What the Hell? You promised Heaven would be our time, too." "That was before God offered me a promotion. He was mad at Michael for allowing this to happen, liked that I had sought him out. He likes it when you meet him halfway. We're still going to be together, I'm just going to have a career as well." "You're dating the right hand of God?" Ben asked confused. "I was dating him when he was a regular old stalker angel like your angel, Beth, over there. He has recently been promoted it seems," Dean said glaring at Castiel. "This is why I didn't tell you," Castiel huffed. "If it goes against your ideals then it is not allowed." "I don't understand humans at times," Bethanael said, agreeing with Castiel and implying that Ben took after Dean in more departments than just looks. "How do you get your human to listen?" "I don't, that's the problem." "Ha ha," Dean said dryly. "You're a laugh riot. We'll have time for jokes later. Ben, tell me about the thing you've been hunting." "The succubus has claimed five men so far," Ben said. "I did all my research yesterday, so I was just about to start interviewing the family members today." "What's your cover story?" "I hadn't decided. I was holding off for a few hours hoping that you'd show." "Well, what IDs do you have?" "Well, I haven't made any yet. I have all the software set up-" "Software?" "Yeah, you know, Photoshop. I got a crack of it, so it was illegally free. I also bought lamination paper, interchangeable badges, the works." "I didn't understand anything you just said, but it sounds epic." Ben grinned and led Dean over to where he had his computer set up. While Ben explained to Dean how everything worked, Castiel grabbed Bethanael's arm and pulled her aside. "I think we should leave, so you can give me your report," Castiel said to her. "But I wish to stay with Ben." "I will explain to you what a father-son moment is later. For now, know that it would be best if we left them alone." Bethanael grabbed Castiel's arm and they disappeared, leaving Dean to bond with his son. They returned to the motel after the interviews. Because of Ben's age, they went as newspaper reporters from a religious magazine under the guise that they were trying to prove the "dangers" of sex. Surprisingly, the families were extremely helpful with sharing intimate details in an attempt to help prevent their readers from suffering the same fate. "The angels are still out?" Ben asked as he shrugged off his boots to get more comfortable. "I think they're letting us bond. Well, if I know Castiel, he is." "Well, I only have one bed and I'm not that interested in bonding that much." "Don't worry, I'll take the floor." Dean pulled out the spare blanket and pillow that was always kept in the closet of motels like these. He laid them down on the floor then stripped of most of his outer clothes, Ben did the same. Ben got into the bed and Dean laid down on the floor. "I had fun today... It was awesome interviewing everyone with you." Ben paused. "Thanks, Dad." There was a long silence before Dean finally said, "You're welcome, Son." Shortly after, they both fell asleep. In the morning, Dean woke up to the sound of moaning. He sat up and looked at the bed. Ben was gripping the sheets with his eyes closed. He moaned again and Dean stood up. Dean gripped Ben's shoulder then shook it. "Ben, wake up," Dean said shaking him again. "Ben? Ben! Damn it! Cas! Beth! There's something wrong with Ben!" Bethanael appeared with Castiel. Her face twisted in one of horror and she rushed to Ben's bedside. "It's the succubus," Bethanael said. "She must have realized Ben is a hunter." "Can't you just zap him better?" "I am not that experienced. It is not your average human turned demon. A succubus is a hell beast! If Castiel was still an angel, he could expel it, but I cannot." "Then we'll have to kill the physical body," Castiel said. "We don't have a moment to lose. The succubus could finish him at any time." "I will enter his dreams to see if I can hold her off." Bethanael's eyes shifted to the floor and she said sadly, "At least that's one thing I can do." "This is no time for doubts. Ben needs us." She nodded. Dean and Castiel exited the motel and Dean began walking, almost running, away from the motel. "Do you know where we're going?" Castiel asked while following closely behind him. "I thought we'd start at the library." "Why the library?" "It's where Ben started his hunt and the only place he'd be looking for information on a succubus. If we had met the succubus while we were doing the interviews, it would have gone after me." "Ben would have more sexual energy for the succubus to feast upon though." "I'm sure there's tons more sexually frustrated teens than Ben in this town. What are the odds that it chooses Ben when he's in town hunting the damn thing? No, it knows he's a hunter. If it would have been during the interviews, it would have chosen me as its victim because I obviously have more experience. Leaving me alive and killing the inexperience hunter would be foolish. Hopefully, there aren't more. If there aren't, then its body will be unprotected." "I hope you're right." "For Ben's sake, I hope I am, too." Bethanael entered Ben's dream. She found herself in the hotel where they had their first time. Her vessel was created soulless because it would be suspicious if she didn't grow. A soul filled vessel froze in time if an angel possessed it. Bethanael needed to blend in and look human for her mission. Afterwards, her vessel would be recycled, now she didn't want to give it up. "Ben?" Bethanael called out. The blankets shifted and Bethanael was confused at the scene. That was herself on top of Ben, but it couldn't be, this vessel had been promised only to her. The fake drew the sheets around herself and stared at Bethanael as if confused how she was even standing there. Ben's eyebrows knitted together in confusion as if trying to think, but his mind was being clouded. "Beth?" He questioned. "She must be the succubus," the fake said. "No! Ben, she's the succubus, not me," Bethanael demanded. "She's the one intruding." "You must believe me, Ben. You have to know I'm the real Bethanael." "I- I don't know," Ben said while gripping his head. "Feels like a damn marching band is parading around in there." "The succubus is using her powers to try to confuse you. She is after your life force." "No," the succubus said. "She's trying to confuse you. Remember when we went to prom together? I wore that red strapless dress and you gave me that red carnation corsage-" "And we took pictures by a trellis filled with fake white roses. The theme was Nighttime in Paris and there was a balloon Eiffel Tower in the middle of the gym. That was when you said you loved me and that was when you brought me here to divulge in lust..." "But then I told you love isn't the same thing as lust," Ben said. He untangled himself from the succubus and walked over to Bethanael. Ben took her into her arms and Bethanael visibly blushed. "I do not know what is wrong with me, but the fact that you are very naked is upsetting me." Ben blushed and let go of her, "Forgot about that." "Oh, gag me," the succubus said, getting out of bed and dragging the sheet with her. "What are an inexperienced hunter and a low ranked angel going to do to stop me?" "I think you should be more worried about the experienced hunter and fallen angel that are now searching for your body," Bethanael said. The succubus screamed and disappeared. "Why did you do that?" "It could not die while it was still in your head." "What if Dean and Cas aren't there?" "Have faith." "That's easy for you to say, you're an angel." "One day, Ben Winchester, if I have any say in it, you will have faith." Ben pulled Bethanael into a kiss. "And if I have anything to say in it, I'm going to get lucky with an angel." "You really should wake up now." "In a minute, I'm having a good dream." "I dislike corporal creatures," Castiel said as he wiped goo off his face. "They are disgusting and why must they reproduce?" Dean threw his blood-covered shirt into the laundry bag and switched out for a new one. Castiel had already changed and was getting the excess off his face. "I had to kill the bitch. All you had to do was smash the eggs." "One hatched and bit my ankle!" "At least we know why she was in town collecting sexual energy," Dean said trying to derail the argument of who had the worse time. "Using horny boys to lay eggs, it's like a bad horror movie or episode of a tv show." Castiel threw the towel into the laundry bag, "At least it's over and the town is safe." "Yeah and Ben is too. That was fucking scary." "I can imagine." "Hey, Cas?" "Yes, Dean?" "Are you really alright with the whole right hand of God thing?" "I don't know," Castiel said pursing his lips. "I will admit that I do not think I am worthy of such a task, but I am honored to do as such. I have faith that it will all work out." "How can you have so much faith?" "Because my faith brought me to you." Dean ducked his head, trying to hide his red face, "We better get back to Ben and Beth. I'm sure they'll be waiting to hear if we killed it or not." When they entered the room, Ben was up and packing his discarded clothes. "You are stubborn," Bethanael said to Ben. "Yeah, but that's what you love about me," Ben replied. "Tell him, Dean Winchester. You are his father, he will listen to you. If not for you, Ben would be dead. Yet, he wishes to continue hunting." "It's in my blood," Ben complained, stopping to face Dean. "You have to believe me. I don't know why, but I'm being compelled to do more." "I believe you," Dean said after awhile. "Winchesters are warriors. We're soldiers, always have been. Then you also have Campbell blood in you. They were a long line of hunters. People in our family, they just weren't meant to be civilians." "So, you're agreeing with me?" "No, I think you're crazy for actually walking into this life, but it doesn't look like anything is going to stop you. I rather train you than have you go into dangerous situations on your own." "Thank you, Dad! I promise you won't regret it." "One condition." "Anything!" "Call your mother." "Besides that." "Ben, you scared the living shit out of her. If you're going to do this, you're going to want to keep your family close. This job will drive you insane if you don't have something to hold onto." "Fine," Ben said reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out his phone. "If it will get you to help me, I'll call Mom." With a small gulp, Ben dialed his mom's number and waited. "Hello?" Lisa said when she picked up. "Hey Mom, it's Ben... uh, how are you?" "Ben? Oh God, Ben. You don't know how good it is to hear from you. Did Dean find you? Are you injured? Are you coming home?" "I'm okay and Dad did find me, but I'm not coming home." "What about college?" "I didn't apply to any and it's too late now. If I get this out of my system, I might go, but for now, this is what I want to do with my life." "You could get killed." "I want to save people, Mom. Please, I begged Dad to help me. Besides, even when Dad and I part ways, Beth will still be here with me." "Beth? Isn't she your stalker?" "She was, but we've been dating for awhile. I didn't want you to freak on me. Also, Beth is an angel. A real angel with wings and a destiny, all that." "Ben..." "Mom, I love her and she loves me. You'll have to accept that." "When did you grow up?" Lisa sobbed. "Just yesterday you were eight and jumping in the moon bounce!" "I'm sorry, you know, about everything." "It's okay. Angels and destinies, I think that means I'll have to go to church more often." "Ug, it's not that big of deal," Ben complained. "I'm not some warrior of God. I'm just in love with an angel." "Dean knows God." "He does?" Ben cast Dean a warily look. "My dad met God?" "That's what Castiel said." "I guess we'll have a lot to talk about while we're on the road then." "Be good for Dean and don't get into too much trouble. Make sure you call every single day." "I will, don't worry." "I love you, Ben." "I love you, too, Mom." They said their good-byes and Ben hung up the phone. He slipped the phone back into his pocket. "So..." Dean said. "How's this going to work?" "I can drive the Impala," Ben suggested. "In your dreams." "I have driven the Chevelle before," Bethanael said. "I passed the human class, Driver's Ed." "It's settled then. Humans in the Impala and angels in the Chevelle." "I don't like this plan," Ben protested. "I guess you won't hear about how I defeated Lucifer and met God, you know, since we won't be traveling in the same car." "Like Beth said, she's driven the Chevelle before. I'm sure she won't crash it." Dean grinned and began his sordid tale of blood, death, sorrow, and the freaking apocalypse. Ben listened with avid ears as he finished packing his bag. They walked out to the car, Dean enthusiastically describing what it was like to have a Back To The Future moment. Almost in unison, they slide into the Impala and Dean started the car, putting AC/DC on low so he could listen and talk over them. It felt natural having Ben in the car beside him. Dean knew that he wouldn't always be there and Ben would one day go off on his own, but for now, he decided to just enjoy the company of his son. Hopefully, Ben would learn something from his tales and have an easier time than Dean ever did. | |
